What if he decided it was a brilliant idea to do the Dreaming version of drunk dialing an ex? Squabble with Desire? What if he influenced something he shouldn't, said or did the wrong action, and suddenly another world was destroyed? Dramatic and extreme, yes, but with his power he was fearful to put anything to chance.
... plus he really, really could not exist for eternity if he drunk dialed Thessaly. Nada at least he couldn't find so far, so small favors in her not being a possibility for this?

"And do you bring new things to him to try?" Dream questioned regarding Matt bringing tea for Kate. He took his mug back to the desk, sitting down and setting the drink in front of him. His posture was once again perfect and he watched the steam faintly curl upwards in tendrils.
"We will make introductions then." A beat. "Not at a balloon museum." It sounded a little too undignified for his taste. "I do not mind theatre shows and musical performances. Or visiting parks. When I can spare the time." He did often lock himself away in the Dreaming, though per Death's urging, he'd do a better job if he interacted with people more. That had been one reason he'd gotten to know Kate.
