He'd come to realize, especially of late, that sometimes what he'd thought were acts of logic and reason were in fact not. That he had changed over the years, even if a part of him kept wanting to deny it, and that was making him question parts of his past.

It did not mean he followed their every thought and feeling in the waking world, but day dreams and night dreams? They were his domain. He had to know them to help set a stage for them, and to protect them. "Though what words one puts to sentiments in my realm are not always identical to those one might use when woken."
"It's a good name," Matthew assured her. "And he better be a good guy, or else he's got a pecking coming towards him."
Dream didn't have to wonder if this was the man Kate had destined for the amulet, though he didn't press her on that. He merely said, "I am glad you have someone to stand by your side, and to find comfort in at night. Existence is a lonely road to walk alone."
